How does that make sense since none of the aftermarket exhausts have the flapper, including BMW's own PE? And there are no issues with anyone else...
I have had the flapper unplugged for about 8k miles (others have had it longer) and have only recently had a misfire. i think your case is just coincidence.
In fact, I think with the flapper open all the time, it's supposed to help the car more; less backpressure = better for turbos.
