The NFC spec provides for remote wireless power of the NFC chip. It almost certain this will work with a phone with a dead battery in a similar fashion the card key does.
I am still trying to figure out when apple and bmw will make this work . Apple has the technology inside the iPhone it uses for the applepay .
Since I suppose a lot of BMW drivers own an iPhone, I am wondering why and above all when will they make the digital key work.
Any insiders?????
