Maybe they thought it was about the grille? In this case, it wasn't (except for the thing about the colored bars, I suppose).
Having said that, note that the new 2
doesn't have the beav... er, I mean, enormous grille and draw your own conclusions about what that means going forward. Could mean smaller grilles
and a bunch of archived threads, the latter because everybody who cares enough to post about it has repressed the memory.
P.S. My favorite grille joke is still Sreten's (M539 Restorations on YouTube) comment when a late '90s 850i right kidney fell on his foot: "If this had been a new 7-series, it would have crushed my foot."
