I think it is interesting that in this post many are disappointed with how BMW is doing compared with MB when it comes to sales volume but when someone points out one of the best ways to increase volumes is to come out with a FWD sedan or more SUV's then suddenly BMW is selling their soul.
If volume and profit is the number one goal then just build what Sales/Marketing figures out what people want (MB seems to be doing a better job at overall) and forget about all of the nonsense of the "heritage", "manuals", "ultimate handling", etc. that really don't matter to the masses.
