The V8 will be around for awhile yet. A new S68 (and presumably an N68 as well) is known to be coming soon to replace the S63. The V12 is indeed likely (all but guaranteed at this point) to be gone from the 7 Series after this generation, but it will continue in Rolls Royce models for years to come.

We already know some of the drivetrain combinations that are going away soon:

- S55 (including both DCT and 6MT)
- B58B30M0 (including both ZF8 and 6MT)

I would not be surprised to see RWD six cylinder gasoline and hybrid (maybe diesel too) models phased out entirely by the end of next decade, including the RWD S58 combination rumored for the G8x M2/M3/M4. I would also expect to see hybrids replace many gasoline and diesel models over that time period as well.
