i'm coming into this one a bit late, but there is a difference between "driven correctly" and "driven to get 30 MPG."

here's the article though: http://www.autobloggreen.com/2008/10...hon-in-the-uk/ 30.96 MPG was the final figure. kind of a waste because nobody would probably ever drive the car like that. personally, i don't put much value into those kind of numbers because they aren't really applicable to the real world. similar to how top gear got an m3 sedan to have better gas mileage than a prius around the track. but saying that an m3 gets better MPG than a prius would be a joke, even though it was factually true in that instance.
