The car isn't so much unstable at speed, it's unstable and somewhat unpredictable around corners (even the Stig had problems knowing when the car would oversteer and just how far). But, in fact, not all supercars behave this way. The Carrera GT's lack of stability electronics and heavy rear make it the new widowmaker.

No one can know this.

The crash was most likely due to a combination of car design, old tires, and driver error, but it's impossible to know the percentage of each, and wouldn't bring them back anyway.
