So my daughter has a cat like
Run Silent . She's had her for a few years.
Daughter got married last year, and they decided to get a new kitten (playmate) and it would be their first pet together as a couple.
They went through all the vet visits, and everything came back all clear. Fast forward 6-7 months and she takes the new cat to her vet because his attitude has changed. Tests come back as Feline Leukemia. Apparently it can lay dormant and show up later.
They have a transfusion done, get bone marrow testing, and the specialist tells them that it's mainly scarring so there is promise.
She gets called today after another visit to find out that his RBC is dropping again and they are going in for another transfusion. If this doesn't take along with the steroids, they will have no choice but to let him go.
She asked me if we could babysit her other cat for the weekend if it comes to that so that they could spend as much time with him before the deed.
She was so upset and it just killed me. I hate it for the little guy as I have interacted with him and he's a cute little thing. Just got dealt a bad hand.
My daughter is my life and I have always been able to fix almost any issue she's ever had. This time I'm powerless....... and it sucks I can't do anything.
Just had to get it off my chest.
