The LCI typically comes approximately three and half years in, and the G20 started production in late 2018. So yes, a mid 2022 timeframe makes sense.

Just as every other M vehicle does when it’s non-M sibling does, yes, the M3 will get updated when the 3 Series does.

And yes, you correctly recognized that, because the M3 shares headlights with the 4 Series and M4, only it’s tail lights will change in 2022. For the headlights (assuming they do change for the M models again this generation like they did last; previous generations did not) it will have to wait for the 4 Series LCI, which should be in early 2024 if they stick to the traditional schedule.
