I agree up to the part where you say that everyeon around you will stop passing judgment. It may feel that way just because you don't really give a sh*t what they say!
I'm 28 but nobody I know would ever think my parents bought my Zed for me. My philosophy is, enjoy stuff like this when you're as young as possible. I may not be able to enjoy it when I start a family, etc.
