haha, no idea... I tend to take my camera and aim it at an object that is in the middle between my brightest things i'm going to shoot and my darkets.

common ground is grass, so i tend to set my exposure using grass, and look at my histogram. Then shoot stuff and adjust slightly from there. So far it's been working for my exposures. (this is something i've been trying more recently.)

I tend to get a light blue sky, and some of the dark greens in the shade, might be a little on the dark side, but they can be brought up a bit in post processing.

that's what i did with the house picture a few posts ago. some of the trees leaning in towards me ended up being pretty dark in the picture, but post processing brought them out a little and made things more neutral.
