Not just single vs double vanos. The S52 has a 2-step system, while the Euro S50B32 has 'infinite' positions.

The S50B32 vs S52B32, are two completely different engines. The S52 is put simply a stroked M52 with hotter cams.

The S50B30 and B32, while stemming from the same M50/M52 basic architecture, are very different.

S50B32 - S52B32, The S50 head has much bigger intake and exhaust ports and bigger intake and exhaust valves, fed through 6x50mm butterflies and releaved through a tuned length exhaust manifold.

Bigger compression ratio at 11.3:1
Larger cams
Higher redline
Dual vanos system. Although this is more for good idling and low down torque than max power.
3.5" maf / larger intake track.

Not power related, but the EU S50's also have an oil cooler and the S50B32 has a different sump with two pickups and a scavenging pipe.

If you know the S54, the S50B32 is like that, but its older predecessor.
