The point why for example BMW exploits the m5 as a ring taxi is to show it can drive a track at high speed any day, all day long.
Not to show how fast they can have a sedan drive around a track and subsequently have it towed off the track 
I mean this is better than a few years ago when the model S couldn't even complete 1 lap without going into all sorts of fault modes protecting the battery, but it seems that progress is....slow. |
thats true. i'd like to see the remaining range on the tesla after that lap. And no doubt given the weight of the thing the brake pads, tires and fluids were crying for mercy after those 7 minutes.
but in reality... idk anybody who would buy an f90, rs6, or e63 and be like "you know what i want to track this thing too". Its maybe 0.01% of buyers that actually do that.
