The thing I don't get is buying a truck because you MIGHT need it half a dozen times a year.

Need to haul some lumber from home depot or Lowe's? Go rent a truck for the day and use that. Lots of people in this country don't mind looking rich, while actually barely skating by so that anything, like the rising price of gas, makes the lifestyle unsustainable.

Hence the comment earlier in the thread about oil reaching $140/barrel in 2008 and everyone selling their trucks because they could no longer afford it.
