The VQ37 is by far the worst itaration of the VQ engine. The old VQ engine got bored and stroked to the point where it got to be one of the least refined engines in the industry. Take a 370Z out and run the engine to redline. Once you get near 6000 RPM it sounds like a trash compactor that's going to explode any second. It's one of the least pleasing engines I have ever driven in a sporty car. I can only imagine how bad a 4 litre version would be as the cooling was already compromised at 3.7 litres.
