I got the 2SS 1LE because it seemed to match all the requirements I wanted. Manual-only, the right-sized rubber for the power, heated/cooled seats and steering wheel, a few aids like blind spot detection and rear cross-traffic, and all of that performance. I considered a 911 and some other cars like GT350, etc., but this did it for me. My point is make sure what you want is what you want. If it is, then find a way to get it. I don't lust after a 911, but I wouldn't kick it out of bed either. I'm not even thinking about a "next car" really, but a Cayman GTS is more attractive to me than a 911 these days.
