Totally agree, team mate is the best measure, if his teammate ends up being Mazepin, I don't think Mick is going to have an issue beating his teammate.

Does he deserve a better seat? Mick was a slow starter in F3 and F2. To be honest, I didn't think he would actually make it to F1. He needed a lot of time to learn the car (arguable one of the top team) and it took him over a year in each formula before he started producing results.
  • F3 2017 - 12th
  • F3 2018 - 1st
  • F2 2019 - 12th
  • F2 2020 - 1st*

Not to take away from his achievements because he won F3 and he's on his way to take F2. But George Russel took the F2 championship and Lando took 2nd their first year respectively. I don't know if he would've gotten to where he was without the Schumacher name and the Ferrari backing.

Only time will tell if Ferrari will kick out Sainz to make room for Schumi Jr.
