I wonder what mileage you will get if you drive without traffic at a speed of around 65 mph. I am not sure how possible that is for the area you live in.
We are comparing apples to different types of apples. But my 2018 328d sedan, non-xDrive, gets roughly 42 to 46 mpg in combined driving. My average speed is 46 mph per on-board computer, as I do most highway at 60-70 mph and some city driving. Will get stuck in minor traffic here and there. If I do more than half highway driving, 46 mpg in comfort mode is what I have gotten on my last fill. That gets me about 630 miles with 1.3 gallons of reserve left in the tank.
Not sure if this helps any, given that you have a wagon with xDrive, but wanted to share my experience. So far, very pleased with N47 engine performance.
