I have experienced something similar and I just can't understand this approach to sales. If someone who worked for me took this attitude they would be fired. They either have the wrong staff, the wrong staff incentive programme, or more likely both.
BMW's aren't exactly flying out of the door. Ever-increasing discounts are needed to sell them. They spend a lot of money on marketing, so ignoring an interested customer who has cash to spend is completely bizarre.
