I’ve used the 911 for road trips and jaunts to Home Depot, and years before would use my Boxster top-down to bring home 10’ lengths of pipe but I hear you on the utility of sedans. I would say the 996 turbo stock or nearly stock is a little faster than my supercharged e90 (both 6mt) off the line and to 60 but not as dynamic with speed changes above freeway speeds and a little slower down the straightaways on track- exactly what you would expect comparing a 480 horsepower awd car weighing 3400 pounds compared to a 3700 pound RWD car with 580 horsepower at the crank but traction limited off the line.
