So here's a quirk.
I've got a Sub on an Everest nylon strap. I brought it into my AD for cleaning last week.
A few days later, I get a text from them saying (paraphrased) "We can't clean it (in house) while it has the Everest strap on it, but if you bring in the bracelet, we can clean it."
Um, ok. Odd, but ok.
So, I Brought in my (never-worn/used) bracelet and don't really think much more of it.
Today, I went to pick it up, and the bracelet was installed. I asked them to put the Everest strap back on, and it turned into a helmet fire.
Finally, the manager got involved and they did it for me as a "goodwill" gesture, but told me that as an AD, they can't install non-Rolex straps, so going forward, I'd have to deal with removing and installing the strap myself when I bring it in for service.
Ok, not a problem, I've got tools somewhere in the house, but it really seems like an odd rule for me. It's a bracelet and strap-- not an integral part of the watch.
