I wouldnt say absurd. Ive owned a few staggered bmws and have gone through several sets of rear tires in around 20k miles (even my 540 treadwear tires). No i dont do burnouts lol. I think the negative camber combined with the inability to rotate tires factors in heavily. I've always figured 20k mi on rears and 50k mi on front for a 540 tire, less for my 280 summer tires lol.
