If you feed lab rats enough of anything, they will develop problems. Just like humans. If you drink that many sodas, you definitely have a dietary problem. This is true for any abuse of a product.

Just my two cents.
Before aspartame it was saccharine. I remember sitting through a lecture in biology a very long time ago and the question was raised about saccharine and cancer. Similar data from lab rats, 200 cans a day for 2 years was the equivalent to cause cancer as I recall.
