If you're new to post processing photos, shooting in RAW format, as stated above, os highly recommended. The photos save a whole lot of detail that can be extracted when editing them. The downside to this is the size of the photos is significantly bigger and they look flat straight out of the camera.
If you've never used any software to correct your photos previously, I'd highly recommended Luminar. It's super simple and the newer versions use AI quite well.
