When I installed the fuse tap to location 146, I did install it correctly. I had the red pigtail wire pointed to the driver-side (I have a US spec car, so it's a left-hand drive car). I inserted the factory 5 amp fuse to the location closest to the fuse tap prongs and inserted the 20 amp fuse that came with the B-124 into the location furthest from the prongs. With that setup, the 5 amp fuse blew and the 20 amp fuse was okay. Fuse 145 location was designed to draw a max of 5 amps. So trying to draw more than that is going to blow the fuse.
As a general rule, the new accessory fuse you are adding, should be rated at the same or less amps as the original factory fuse—never more.
