To help understand this concept, its a start to understand what the Garmish Concept meant to BMW design language in the 70-80s and forward. Ofcourse we will not get infinity mirror headlights, but they are playing around with some very old design elements in this new concept.

I think this has a lot of promise. Neue Klasse sedan is tremendous - even better in real life - and I think the language will translate well to SUV proportions too.
It seems like camera has fishbowl effect going on in front exterior shot.

This is free “market research.” Leak these concept mock ups and see how it’s received. Get free honest feedback and back to CAD system for refinement… ✌🏽

I hope it's just a horrible camera angle. The sedan concept was pretty good looking. I'll hold out hope this isn't as horrible as the pic makes it seem.

It's the interior that's a crime against humanity. If i wanted a stupid design that's made to teach people bad habits about owning and driving a vehicle with just a big @$$ touch screen in the middle of the dash I would have bought a Tesla. But I don't want a Tesla. BMW is officially lost in so many ways.

That looks like a supermodel compared to the front end of the new 7 series. The kidney grill is way more reminiscent of old school BMW than anything going on right now. I’m sure they can find a way to scree it up but I think the general idea is good looking. Of course, I was also optimistic about the G60 and it’s the most boring looking BMW I may have ever seen.

This is a great little video showing the impact of focal length on things like the perceived proportions of a car:

Wow, so this is really happening!

Almost all news outlets were saying this would be the regular Neue Klasse design, because probably nobody could’ve even thought that there would be tiny vertical grills hiding in the middle.

At this moment it seems like a very weird design decision. So sedans will get grills and lights in one and SUV’s will get the same but with an added vertical grill on the middle. That would be so strange.
