My E39 is dead

Well a week ago i posted something about my cars coolant tank, well driving it back (my dad did) while it was blown to the house, which was about a mile, it overheated and check engine came on, it was stupid to drive it back. since today we were fixing the coolant tank, we started it. after about a minute or so the check light came on and my dad saw smoke come from it. The seals are possibly busted and water got mixed with oil. Thats the long and short of it. ill miss her. R.I.P. 9/97 - 3/4/2012 Alpine White 528i

Sounds like you warped your aluminum head by overheating the block. You can recover from this mistake. I wouldn't retire your car just yet.

It won't be cheap, but quite a bit cheaper than starting again with something else. Did I mention that the 528i is probably the best driving car you'll have for quite some time? It even rates higher than the two 5-series models that replaced it, both the E60 and F10. It actually drives better than my new Z4 - no kidding. I don't mean faster, I mean better ride, handling, and overall balance. I'd recommend taking your car to someone who fixes BMWs (not a dealer, but a good independent repair shop) and getting a second opinion. If you have warped the head (and thereby oil is getting into the coolant and vice-versa) then it should just mean a new head and gasket set. Probably a new thermostat too. If you have the time and can convince he who holds the money, consider having your car looked at by someone who knows BMWs. Cheers.
