That's what this asshat was thinking when he turned traction control off.

For many/most drivers, cars these days are just too powerful without nannies. If you are one of those few that can handle the power without nannies, just turn them off.

On the race track, who cares. But on city streets with innocent people around, I think having traction control on these very powerful cars is important.

Not everyone is a moron, and I am all for better/increased safety in cars. But that doesn’t necessarily mean that the car has to do all the thinking for you, especially in a performance oriented vehicle. We aren’t quite to the time when we won’t be doing the driving at all, although that seems inevitable given the investments around self-driving vehicles.

Anyone who thinks this is bad doesn't understand traction control and probably hasn't driven a Tesla. There is a reason why they get off the line like they do, and it's not the torque.

I'm glad your not a moron. Unfortunately, it's easy to get out of control in these cars with lots of power for many/most people. If you are the exception, good for you. Your comment about more speed and less intrusion might apply to you, but nannies are necessary to keep less skilled drivers from harming others.

My wife and I were on the receiving end of a driver that lost control of his car so sorry if I'm a bit sensitive.

Here's a clip of some drivers who learned the hard way.

^This!!!! It’s about GD time, BMW is so far behind almost everybody else in this area it is crazy.

Now if we can get BMW to get on board with some of the newer suspension tech such as Mag ride etc................
