03' 540i Clicking while trying to start.. Help Please!

I just recently purchased an 03' 540i. I've been driving it for about 2 weeks now, and the other day I tried starting the car and it started making a wierd clicking noise as if the battery was dying. It wasn't a rapid click but a steady click as if the starter. Any ideas??? The radio and everything else was still working though.

Was it clicking only when you were turning they key to the start position or in other positions? If the former, it's your battery. The battery can power the radio etc while not having enough power to turn the starter/engine. Do the headlights dim when you start the car?
