cmon now, anyone can undo a hex / allen / square drain plug ... you gotta be certified to use a specialty tool though. And they dont just hand out those certs.

Nope, that would be Arschmacher (or Arschenmacher as plural)

Nope, the plural of Arsch would be Ärsche but the "Ä" isnt to pronounce by english words.
Nevertheless it would be Ärschemacher

Oh yes of course.
I dont think theres a good german translation in 'assen' except 'ate'.
And Assen is a city in the Netherlands (famous for the motogp) but that also doesnt make sense.

Totally crazy though to make a bespoke fitting for an oil drain plug

No different to when we had to use radio keys! You had to use the VW one to remove the VW stereo... until someone created generic keys and key sets for all cars.

Seems like the germans like to reinvent the wheel.

And Ford. Why would you reinvent (and do it very badly) a spark plug... Idiots.

Or the dumbass plastic pieces that hold the trunk carpet in my Jetta. Why can't they just use normal ones? Nope, even these have some sort of hex head shit that no hex wrench will even fit.

Sean this is a strange post and appears to be designed to get your post count so you can start creating new topics.

I promise you, if you are doing this just to spam the forums with "essay writing" companies, I'll get you banned so fast your head will spin.

My sister has owned two Jettas, and I have to say VW is one of those brands that lives up to the German over complexity reputation. A lot of stupid shit on that car and it's all flimsy plastic. Her 2001 you had to remove the battery and about 10 plastic shields to change a head light.

She now has a 2013 with the 2.5L. To change the oil, you have remove the plastic tray that covers the oil filter on the bottom of the engine. 8 bolts. Then the filter is in a plastic canister attached to the engine. They couldn't put that on the top like the 2014 1.8T? On my buddy's 2014 1.8T Jetta you can change the oil without removing any underside plastic.

On the BMW it has a top mounted oil filter, the plastic tray has an access door for the drain bolt, and changing a head light bulb on an E90 325xi takes about 5 minutes.

Don't forget the 100% authentic legal documentation. Passports, Visas, Social Security Cards, etc. Because we all need those, as well.

You had the indecency to post it in Off Topic, which indicated to all that you really didn't care for it in the first place. An unwanted child if you will.

Had you cared, like a good father, you would have posted it in a dedicated subforum like DIY guides, or Mechanical Maintenance.

It's your fault, really.

Once you know there is a hidden trap door under the wheel well, you have a quarter in your pocket and if you don't accidentally drop said door during re-installation and it disappears somewhere below/above the bottom engine cover, that you can't even find it after dropping said cover, and just blindly reach into the abyss and magically your fingertips can just TOUCH it, but not retrieve it until you can wrangle needle-nose pliers into said abysmal void, and get just enough of a grip to slide it back a few mm until your fingers can reach it again.

ALLEGEDLY, on the E90 325, that is.

So you give up and go to the dealer for basic tasks. Then you get hit with the barrage of very profitable services that you don't need. Right to repair, whether its cars, phones, anything, is under serious attack.
