FL is a free state, i'll be armed when lost in the woods.

Coldest place I've ever been was Korea, up near the DMZ. Winter temps would get near -40F. (Or Celsius where both temps are the same.) If you inhaled through your nose without some protection, your nostrils would freeze on the inside. Our CO would make us run PT if it was above zero. We got to wear knit caps, but they'd freeze to your hair once your started sweating. After PT you'd have to take a shower in a latrine/shower building, which was barely heated, then slide your way back your barracks building to get dressed.

Then the summer would come around and it would be well over 100F for weeks. Super high humidity, too. Unbelievable extremes. Ah, the good old days.

It's been single digits above and below zero here for a few days. Not horrible, but cold enough. As long as the wind isn't blowing much, it's tolerable.

This used to be normal winter. One week of it and there is a thread plus news stories freaking out about it?

Not sure there is a normal winter any more. Last year we had no sub-zero days here and we hit 70 several days in February. I haven't shoveled snow since winter 2015/2016. This year it doesn't look like we'll have those warm temps, but we still haven't had any snow to speak of (knock on wood).

But I get your point. I remember some nasty, nasty winters growing up. I was in Korea (see above post) when the rest of my family was digging out of the Blizzard of '78 in New England. That was a winter worth writing about.

Sorry but cold weather sucks soooooo much more than hot weather it's not even close. If you don't see it then you probably got brain freeze from living in a meat locker.

Heat is so much easier to deal with. When it's hot you can stay inside in the AC, or go to the beach, take a dip in the pool, go outside in your tshirt and shorts. Worst case scenario you may sweat a bit if you need to be outside for a long time.

If it's cold you either stay inside or gear the fuck up like you're a fucking astronaut. Then when you get somewhere you gotta take it all off or you start sweating like a motherfucker. Then you gotta deal with snow and ice and shit freezing and those nasty fucking filthy snow mud covered cars I see coming down here from up north all the time and special tires and carbon monoxide and hypothermia and death and fuck that shit.

Another balmy single digit day (2, I think). Just got back from some fun driving up in the nearby housing devo to get a better feel for DSC off and traction mode. So far the main drag from all this is the total gridlock during the work week - xdrive is a wonderful thing.

Just spent a couple of hours working outside. Nasty. My feet are numb. Wifey is making some tortilla soup, so I'll be warming up shortly. Great night for it.

Just drove back from 'Vegas. It was cloudy and temps dropped to 63ºF. Why the hell would anyone want to live in shitty Southern California? This is not even hot cocoa weather.

We woke up to 35 degree temperatures Saturday morning, today it was 38 at around 7am. I am in Tampa Bay and these temps are incredibly rare. I can't imagine what people in the northern states are dealing with.
