This is obviously not popular and I would think difficult to enforce. But, if the gov't has the ability to shut off your car anytime they want to... resistance is futile.

Shops are already closed on Sundays in Germany. It's a different work/life culture that doesn't translate.

there was a podcast here recently discussing how some automakers are getting data like your weight and selling it 3rd parties. modern cars have those sensors in each seat to see if there is an occupant and if they are buckled up.

weight 300 pounds -- you're probably unhealthy -- more likely to have a crash, more serious injury, and have longer recovery. car maker sells this info to insurance, you're premiums go up.
