Pre LCI lights on LCI car?

Hi everyone,

I’m currently looking at an e39 2002, and the seller seemingly has PRE LCI lights on a LCI car. How does this happen? The seller says that it’s a factory option; I just want to get a second opinion from the experts.

I don’t believe it to be a factory option. Probably he changed the LCM unit.

You mind explain to me what that is and how it’s related, i searched online and it said it’s related to being a “backup for stored mileage of the car”

essentially he/she (previous owner) put in pre facelift lights
