This artist impression was posted to Motorsport.com a couple weeks ago. I wonder how close it is to the real thing.

If you're talking about the magazines time it's irrelevant. Mercedes is crap and will always be crap with their shit mct transmissions and their heavy ass chassises and crap quality like ffs the C63S amg weighs 1950 while the M4 weighs 1550 kilos. Thats M5 weight in the C63. Shows how crap mercedes is.
No offense, but how old are you? 12? Your profile says you own an S63 but you're knocking Mercedes and calling it crap. Your comparison of the C63S leads me to believe that you've never driven one. Today more than ever AMG is producing cars that match or beat BMW M cars in almost every aspect. Your opinion is one thing, but you provide no real evidence so it has zero credibility. The interior materials/craftmanship and fit/finish of the newer Benz's put them in a league of their own. The MCT isn't crap, I have no idea where you're getting your info from.

That said I'm a die hard BMW fan and continue to buy their products based on that alone. But even for guys like me, its not difficult to see the competitions has caught up and has an fantastic formula. One could say they may even be beating BMW at their own game.
My S63s transmission got replaced twice and i had a turbo failure. Its a slow ass transmission and a shit brand. Ive driven a C63S and i have an M3 on order. Every comparison states that the M is better than the AMG, check evos comparo between the M3 and c63S they say its handles better and lighter while the chassis is way better than the amgs, they also compare M's DCT to the PDK and ferraris DCT. Again shows how crap mercedes is and how bmw makes their drivers cars a drivers car unlike mercedes who badged up a c class with amg badges and called it a day. If im buying a sports car im buying because its sporty not because i want luxury, if i wanted luxury i will buy a C450 or a 440i. Also my S63 is going once my M3 arrives.
To be fair, these cars aren't sports cars. Their either Sport coupes or Sport Sedans.

Teaser concept has some nice lines for sure. I'll eat my own hair if it actually comes out looking like that though.

Hmm was thinking of switching out the M6GC for the Panamera Sport Turismo Turbo, but might have to wait and see what the 8 series looks like.

I fear that the fabulous partial silhouette is merely an "artist's conception." BMW has done it before.

After looking at the camo'd tank that people say is the new 8 I am preparing myself to be disappointed. But if that is an actual partial silhouette, I'm buying one in November.

I am suspecting that BMW will use carbon fibre to keep the weight down. Wonder if there will be an M8 or will they go the route of M860. Cannot wait to see what Alpina is going to do with this to make it even more spectacular.

There is no doubt there will be a V12 version reminiscent of the original model, logically taking the M Performance route (M860i) just like the 7 Series and X7, for weight and engine character considerations, making it a powerful luxury GT. But unlike the 7 Series, the 8 should also spawn a full-blown M version which should logically be a lighter high-revving V8.

Unless BMW deems unnecessary marketing 2 versions with pretty close power figures and with the V12 being slower than the V8... And decides to either keep the V12 M860i and ditch the V8 M8, or ditch the M860i and make a V12 M8 (like the original model prototype) but knowing well it will be more of a heavy GT than your usual light and nimble M car.

9a7 it's a subjective opinion mthl ma tgool, but for someone who supposedly appreciates great cars, it's a little surprising to see that you are arguing the exhaust notes on the c63s's are way better than the weak-ass f8x platform exhausts, sorry. if you had argued with me about e9x platform exhausts, i'd say you have a contender. But you're really arguing that the 6 cylinder car with "enhanced engine noise [that] is pumped into the cabin through the stereo." to literally compensate for its weakness is better? mthl ma glt, it's a subjective opinion, but i'd rather go with the v8 where the sound is au natural.

You made the claim that all the reviewers say the c63 is crap compared to the m4. the above links and even the below ones hardly affirm that point. even the car and driver review, which places the m3 with one point more, gave them equal points on performance with the m3 getting an advantage on stuff like "value/pricepoint", which means the c63s are hardly shit as you claim them to be.

"the M4 can handle mundane motoring with ease, it offers insufficient excitement in the process. Simply put, the Mercedes is the more enjoyable car more of the time, with a character the BMW can’t match." -

meh. As far as I'm concerned $130 and under I'd get the M. If I was gonna spend over $130k I'd get an AMG. I really don't like the low end AMG's they seem kind of pretentious while M cars are focused on driving pleasure. Once you go higher up, AMG's are either more opulent (S, SL and G) or offer performance that current M cars can't match (GT). I've never owned an M but having driven quite a few I'd pick both M and AMG cars from 5-10 years ago over their current counterparts.

As for M3 vs C63, E92 > W204 > F82 > W205. Just my 2 cents
