Brakes (front) upgrade?

Hi guys,

I've would like to improve the braking of my E39 to be more direct and stronger. I run in summer with Alpina 18" rims and during winter on 17" M5 rims.

As far as I can judge that would spare me some space for bigger rotors than the stock ones that came on my 530d.

Do you guys have any suggestions? I've been looking at the BMW Performance upgrade but they are impossible to get by in Poland

Also, does it make sense to replace only front brakes? Or is it a must to replace the rears as well?

Thanks!

Search around for big brake kits for E39. Here is one example.
