All import cars are subjected to a high import tax, starting at around 70% when it is all said and done (Tariff, sales taxes). Luxury cars are subjected to additional taxes (luxury consumption tax, etc.). BMW, Audi, Mercedes are all around 100% more expensive if imported.
If the cars are assembled domestically, the imported parts are typically subjected to a 15% tax.

Chinese buyers can still import cars if they choose with European delivery programs just like us. But most opted for a half priced domestically assembled product instead of double the price for it to be made in Germany. Talk about "China First".

Regular BMW M3 (all made in germany): Suggest starting MSRP = 968,000RMB = $140617.97 USD
USA M3 starting around $70k
