How come the red, white, and blue lights are needed? To disguise himself as an officer? He's lucky that he didn't get caught if that was the purpose since it's a felon to impersonate an officer.

Except in many cases the Statue of Limitations start running after a crime is known, not from the date it occurred. I hope the guy had an attorney verify his "immunity" with every State he drove through, and at the Federal level.

I was thinking the same thing. With the lights, siren, PA system, and all the antennas (okay, "antennae") on the back, I think he'd be in a world of hurt if he got pulled over. Not to mention the polizei uniform, which I assume he kept on for the full 30+ hours.

It's really hard to keep 90mph for the whole trip especially for that distance. On my last trip down from SF to LA I was having a hard time keeping the car above 75mph average even though I hit triple digits from time to time. I wasn't trying to break any record but it felt really odd that I am doing a decent speed but the average still drops. He must have timed his last stretch just right. It is nearly impossible to hit triple digit on the I10 near west LA unless it's between 2-5am.

Well...if you plan it out right so that you hit most of the populated areas at night, it shouldn't be that hard...especially when you're mostly crusing at 150. I'm sure the midwest goes by quick at any time of day. haha
