Honestly. It might be worth the $50 flat bed to your local BMW dealer and then the $150 diagnostic charge to find the issue. That way, you'll have an answer as if you want to invest and get it back up and running or if you should dump it and sell it.
Other than having a mechanic come to you, I don't think I would trust the opinions of forum members (as smart as some of them may be) without them seeing, hearing, touching your car in-person.
