If it hasn't been done, will almost surely need front control arm bushings. Enquire about the brakes as well, this car goes through them fairly quickly, and they aren't cheap, and as I'm sure you know the rubber on this car is expensive too. Fuel pump good for around 70-75K miles.

At first blush, that is a little high for a 2001, but that isn't bad mileage at all for that age car. I think you can find a 2003 with comparable miles for pretty near that price. E39 M5 is truly one of the best cars ever, but perhaps not so as a daily driver considering all things, especially cost to own when you consider the dollar value of the car now. I wish I still had mine, but not as a daily driver. I'd look for an '03 if I were you.
