I second that. I baby my E39, and it still costs between $1K and $2K per year for stuff. Suspension, brakes, winter wheels & tires, gaskets, headlights, cooling, etc. Luckily, maintenance hasn't been all at once, so I've spread it over the past 6 years that I've owned the car.
