My first thought was 'what a weird thing to have those little brick roadside posts'. I guess in that neighborhood you want something to keep Junior out of the living room.
And I thought a J-turn was going forwards and doing a fast 180 degree turnaround - what they taught for evasive driving, with parking brake lockup of rears and fishtail around (anybody else ever 'tray' their FWD?).
