Check out the headlight kits at Bavarian Autosport (
www.bavauto.com) for the E39. I'm actually kinda surprised your girlfriend's 528i has angel-eyes. I thought they only started putting them on 2001 E39s (530i). In any case, for brighter headlights, definitely get the Xenon ones, which can also be ordered with the angel eyes. I'm not sure if you have to buy extra hardware to work the Xenons with standard wiring, but I'm sure that the guys on the tech desk at BavAuto will know.
